The property is set in an elevated position in Y Felinheli, near the royal town of Caernarfon. Here you can explore the narrow streets and waterfront development with its shops, restaurants, cinema, theatre and galleries. Visit the 13th century castle, take a trip on a steam train with the Welsh Highland Railway, or cruise on the Menai Straits. Bangor is also nearby, as are the pretty harbour town of Beaumaris on Isle of Anglesey and Snowdonia National Park.

Full of character, the beautifully restored cottage has exposed beams and period features aplenty, and has nautical decor throughout to reflect the surrounding area. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has a feature fireplace and a wood burner effect electric fire, as well as a TV and DVD, CD and iPod dock. In the kitchen area you’ll find an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and there’s a tumble dryer in the utility room. Relax in the conservatory and take in the incredible coastal views. The cottage has two bedrooms - one double with an en-suite shower and WC and one bunk bedroom - and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Heading outside you’ll find a terrace with a BBQ and garden furniture, where you can relax and look out over the sea with a glass of wine or enjoy an al fresco dinner.

This is a really lovely cottage. The owners use it and love it, and it shows in the attention to detail in the decor and equipment provided. It's in a perfect location for exploring North Wales - so easy to get to Anglesey, Llyn and Snowdonia. Comfortable, well equipped cottage with fabulous views over the Menai Straits to Anglesey. Great position for touring North Wales and Anglesey. Lovely pub with good food in the village less than a 15 minute walk away.

We had a fantastic stay at Bryn Afon. The photographs and previous guest comments seemed too good to be true but it really is as good as shown on the website. The owners obviously take great pride in this property as is evidenced in the seaside themed decor and the attention to detail throughout. This cottage is delightfully quirky. No expense has been spared on equipment and furnishings. The view from the extension over the Menai Straits is wonderful. Access is very challenging for anyone with a mobility disability or with a wide car.

Beautiful, warm, cosy cottage. Thoughtfully decorated with everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay. The garden is stunning and the views are something you would dream of. I can't recommend this property enough and hope to return again one day.

This is a lovely cottage with stunning views over the Menai Straits. The beds were very comfortable, there were excellent showers and the cottage was immaculately clean and warm. The cottage exceeded our expectations, even better than the photos! The views were amazing, sat in the conservatory and enjoyed the peace and quiet. A really well equipped and furnished home, with a very helpful and informative owner. The area has much to offer, and being on a regular bus route to Caernarfon is a plus it you download a timetable. Amazing view over Menai Strait from conservatory. Very convenient for this part of Snowdonia / North Wales/ south Anglesey. Property is well-equipped, and owner quickly responded to a minor repair issue during our stay. Local pub & Thai restaurant recommended, also great breakfast at Swellies.

A beautiful cottage in an amazing location with views that are medicine for the soul. The owners have clearly put so much love and attention into ensuring their guests have a wonderful stay. We've stayed in many cottages over the years and this has to be one of the best equipped we've stayed in.

We enjoyed a lovely stay in Patricias cottage. Everything is looked after very well. Very cosy place for a couple or a family of 3-4 people. The views from the terrace are beautiful and even during bad weather conditions you will feels very comfortable.

I cant recommend this property enough. It was beautifully restored and architecturally interesting. The stunning view over to Anglesey completed the exceptional package. The location was very convenient for all the major sites and attractions. We hope to return the next time we holiday in Cymru!

It really has everything you could possibly want, as it is very well equipped, but it is the quirkiness which sets it apart from anywhere else we have stayed. Our third time at Bryn Afon and we were blessed with two weeks of really hot sunny weather. This little cottage is beautiful, so cosy and very well equipped. We never tired of sitting on the patio every evening watching the sun go down and the little boats on the Menai. We look forward to hopefully coming back soon, thank you Patricia and Malcolm.

What a fabulous location; easy to access so many wonderful places to visit and then come back to a cosy cottage and watch the sunset over the Menai straights. Highly recommend.

Our second visit to Bryn Afon. It has beautiful decor, is well equipped, close to great eateries, near to the coastal path, and has fabulous views of the Menai Straits. Highlights were the Craflwyn Estate (amazing view from Dinas Emrys), Newborough Warren (a bracing beach walk and gorgeous scenery, and complete relaxation in between.

The photos do not do Bryn Afon justice. The love and attention which has clearly gone into making such a beautiful, comfortable home is plain to see in every detail.
