North Wales is full of places of historical interest and wild mountain treks to enjoy. The coast is gilded with old castles too, as well as traditional sea side towns with piers and promenades like Conwy and Llandudno. Mount Snowdon is the jewel in the crown, so why not take a climb or go to the summit by railway? Snowdon is the highest peak in Wales. A trip to Harlech and Portmeirion should also be on everybody’s agenda. Very local highlights include the slate mines of Blaenau Ffestiniog, the longest Zip Line in Europe and the fastest in the world and Bounce Below. Betws-y-Coed has a good range of eateries and pubs to try out of an evening. The cottage is also ideally located to take in many of the Little Trains of Wales including the Blaenau Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways.
When you step through the front door, you will find yourself in the kitchen area, a compact and practical space fully equipped with a four-ring electric hob and oven as well as a microwave. There is also a fridge-freezer located in the tall cupboard under the stairs and the dishwasher is behind the cupboard door to the left of the sink. You’ll find a washing machine behind one of the doors too. There is a dining table and chairs for all four guests. The living room is a wonderfully cosy room with a deep, ‘sink into’ sofa and two armchairs in front of the fireplace, complete with warming wood burner (initial supply of logs provided). A smart TV/DVD and Bluetooth/CD music player together with a good supply of traditional board games provide extra entertainment. Both bedrooms have double beds and countryside views. The first bedroom is on the right at the top of the stairs. It is slightly larger than the second bedroom and has a chest of drawers as well as a wardrobe. The second bedroom has storage for clothes too. Please take care when entering some rooms as in this old worker’s cottage the door frames are lower than normal. The bathroom is to the left at the top of the stairs and has a shower over bath and WC.
Outdoors, the cottage has a small enclosed patio area with table and chairs for two and a wonderful view down the valley.
