This property enjoys a quiet location, with easy access to the Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Welsh countryside. Whilst the property has a lovely secluded feel, making it ideal for a romantic couple’s getaway, it is, nevertheless, within easy reach of one of the region’s best-loved towns - Hay-on-Wye. Hay is, of course, famous for its literature festival and fantastic range of bookshops, however, there is much more to this rather wonderful town, including, craft shops, a range of eateries to suit all tastes, and a weekly market. Other places of interest in the local area include The Brecon Beacons National Park, Offa’s Dyke, and a variety of water-based activities on the River Wye.
This farm cottage is an ideal place to enjoy a quiet break for two. The single-storey property is accessed via two steps (although easy, level access is available if required) which bring guests directly to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a wonderfully light-filled space, thanks to the windows on three sides. Two comfy armchairs are positioned to allow guests to relax in front of the cosy wood burner on cooler evenings and the further radiators make The lookout super cosy when it turns colder. The kitchen area, with its cooking facilities, including an oven and hob is located just beyond the French window which opens out onto the decked veranda. The property’s bedroom has a super king-size bed which can be made up as two single beds on request, and benefits from a patio door which leads out to the veranda, affording lovely waterfall views. The shower room with WC can be found located between the bedroom and the main living area.
Outside, the raised veranda wraps around the property, giving guests a choice of aspects to enjoy from the provided table and chairs. The views include mountains, a stream, the surrounding countryside, and even a waterfall. There is off-road parking provided.
