Nestled in the picturesque grounds of the owner’s country house, this charming property offers an idyllic retreat for countryside enthusiasts. Enjoy leisurely walks in the neighbouring fields, where you can picnic and spot red kites, woodpeckers, and jays soaring above. Nearby attractions include the historic remains of Brecon Y Gaer and Pen-y-Crug forts (3.5 miles), the serene Llangorse Lake (11 miles), and the working Talgarth Mill (12 miles). Just 4 miles away, the friendly market town of Brecon awaits, nestled beneath the mountains with the Usk and Honddu rivers winding through. Brecon boasts a variety of restaurants, pubs, and cafes, alongside a cathedral, a vintage 1930s cinema, a theatre, boutique shops, and a leisure centre with a swimming pool.

This delightful loft conversion is part of the original 18th-century farmhouse that once belonged to the Morgan family, renowned for founding Cardiff’s popular Morgans department store. Accessed via a private drive, the property is perched above the owner’s garage and reached by an external flight of stone steps with elegant wrought iron railings. Inside, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner exudes charm with its sloping ceilings, cosy atmosphere, and eclectic artwork. The lounge area is the perfect place to unwind, featuring a TV, DVD player, CD player, and a wood burner for snug evenings in. The dining area offers a quaint space for two, while the kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a fridge with an ice compartment.

The property includes two beautifully decorated bedrooms: a charming double and a lovely single, both brimming with character. The bathroom features a shower over a corner bath and a WC. Downstairs, a utility room provides a freezer, washing machine, and tumble dryer—ideal for storing wet coats and muddy boots after outdoor adventures.

Outside, a delightful patio area at the top of the steps invites you to savour morning coffee or evening wine while taking in breath taking rural views. Guests also have access to the adjoining field, perfect for picnics or tranquil strolls. Ample parking and secure storage for mountain bikes complete the offerings of this serene countryside escape.

Everything deserved it's 5 stars and more! The climate under the roof even on hot days was fine. The 2persons bed is comfy for tall ones and there was not one head bump the whole week we stayed. We would love to book again, there is still so much to visit and discover in the nearby area.
