Experience the natural beauty of the Brecon Beacons National Park from this charming three-bedroom Welsh cottage. Accommodating up to five guests, it is conveniently located near the vibrant market town of Brecon, with its shops, restaurants, and cafes. Enjoy a 3.5-mile walk along the River Usk to Llanfrynach, or drive 4 to 6 miles to popular hiking starting points in the Brecon Beacons. Alternatively, embark on a 4-mile walk from the cottage, exploring the old Roman Road and historic Drovers route to Pen y Fan, suitable for a family day hike. Afterward, dine at one of the nearby country pubs. You can also stroll into town to the Brecon to Monmouth Canal, hire a cruiser boat or canoes, and enjoy a picnic or meal along the way.

Spot the resident kingfisher or leaping salmon on the River Usk, which borders the historic parkland and water meadows of this rural estate. Day fishing can be arranged through Brecon Town Council or the Wye and Usk Scheme. Visit Llangorse Lake, 6.5 miles away, or take the children to Cantref Adventure Farm, 3.5 miles away.

The property is furnished as the owner's personal home, featuring a fine collection of furniture, landscape art, and well-stocked bookshelves. In summer, enjoy the sounds of school cricket, or in winter, the cheer of rugby from the nearby Christ College grounds.

Enter the stone detached property through the reception hall, leaving your boots, coats, and bags. The kitchen, with a wood burner and window seat, is well-equipped for cooking and dining, with a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility area. After dinner, relax in the lounge with views of the water meadows or watch TV. On sunny days, open the French doors to the patio and enclosed garden. The ground floor includes a shower room with WC, while the first floor has a family bathroom with a hand-held shower over the bath, twin hand basins, and a WC. The attractive bedrooms include a super-king-size, a twin, and a single, all with oak floors and scenic views.

What a great location, with great hill and river views, but still really close to the town. The house was wonderful - warm and spacious, and worth staying longer than the weekend we had, to make best use of it. Brecon is a lovely small town. Possibly the nicest place we have stayed. A beautiful house with big garden and great views. Enjoyed our family stay in this lovely holiday home. Location is excellent, peaceful with a large garden and yet only a short walk into Brecon town centre. Shops, restaurants, museums etc. It was a great base from which to explore the surrounding Welsh countryside. Loved our stay here.

A spacious, characterful, sympatheticaly renovated property in a fabulous location. Central Brecon, but incredibly quiet. We did have some maintenance and cleanliness issues, and freezer which I had to defrost. These were reported to the caretaker. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the location.

An updated shower in a larger cabinet would be good. Other than that, our only other comment would be that the sash windows are very heavy & difficult to open. As our week in June was one of the hottest in the year, more ventilation in the bedroom would have been appreciated.
