Escape from it all with a stay at this appealing, holiday cottage for two. The one-bedroom property nestles on the ground floor of a carefully converted stone barn, on a smallholding, with another cottage on it too. A great romantic retreat, it also makes a base from which to explore the surrounding Welsh countryside. Visit Brecon, 4.5 miles away, with its shops, restaurants, cafes and galleries. Find fabulous walks beside the River Usk and along the canal from the town. Go hill walking, mountain biking, climbing and caving in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Wander down to the village pub, less than 0.5 miles away, or stop for a welcome drink after a long hike before returning home.
Up a few steps, enter into the apartment to find a homely touch and traditional decor, with features like flagstone floors. Settle down on the comfortable seating in your inviting lounge, where the wood burner can be fired up to cast a cosy glow whenever it is cold outside. Choose a book, play a board game or watch a DVD or the TV. Open the French doors on warm days so you can wander out into the sunshine on the patio to relax out there instead. The kitchen has an electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. As darkness falls, enjoy studying the night sky through the antique brass telescope before heading off to your Super-king-size bedroom (which can be converted into a twin if requested), where more French doors can be opened up if the weather permits. The adjoining bathroom comes with a large bath, hand-held shower, separate shower unit and WC.
Spend warm afternoons out in your private gravelled garden, down a step. Enjoy a cup of tea at the table or light the BBQ and take in the views while your supper sizzles. You’ll find plenty of parking at the property.
