Situated just outside the Brecon Beacons National Park, the property is surrounded by some of the area’s most stunning natural beauty spots and popular attractions. Sleeping six guests, this luxurious and spacious cottage in the Swansea Valley, has an inviting natural stone facade with beautifully painted timber frames. It is perfectly situated for those wishing to explore both the mountains of the Brecon Beacons and the beaches of the South Wales coastline. Walkers will want to climb Pen Y Fan the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons (23 miles) or the Sleeping Giant at Cribbath (6 miles). For beach lovers, head to the stunning Gower peninsula and The Mumbles (20 miles) and for children there’s the magnificent Dan Yr Ogof Showcaves (9 miles) and the Monkey Sanctuary (7 miles). The waterfall walk at Glynneath, Carreg-Cennen Castle at Llandeilo, Margam Park, Craig Y Nos Country Park all offer fun for all of the family. Locally you can stroll to the pretty pond near the cottage and enjoy village pubs within walking distance, there’s a shop nearby (2 miles).
Stepping inside the property, head to the stylish kitchen. With rustic brick detailing and a neutral colour scheme, it’s the perfect environment for relaxed cooking, and comes equipped with an electric Range Master cooker with ceramic hob, a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, and freezer. There's a vast array of crockery, cutlery and cookware available. Moving through into the dining room, the mahogany dining table is perfect for family meals, and there’s a matching sideboard for extra crockery space. Exploring further, you’ll find the elegantly furnished lounge. Here you can choose from soft seating or sumptuous Chesterfields on offer to settle down in front of the wood burner to watch TV. There are also French doors which open onto the patio, affording the room additional natural light. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility room with a washer dryer, plus a drying space for coats and boots on a wet day. Leading up the wooden stairs, you’ll reach the property’s three bedrooms. The first of these is a double boasting an en-suite shower room, followed by a second pretty double with a wrought iron bed, and finally a colourful twin. They are served by the large family bathroom, with a shower over the whirlpool bath, and WC. All the upstairs rooms are in the eaves, and therefore have sloping ceilings and low headroom in places
Venturing outside via the French doors, you can sit out and dine alfresco on the patio furniture. There’s a BBQ provided, to enjoy during warm summer afternoons, and the enclosed lawned area is a wonderful space for adults and children alike. Off-road parking is available at the front of the property.There is a second holiday cottage next door - both can be booked together for larger family getaways for up to 10 guests.
