There's a wide range of cafes and restaurants and quirky independent shops to discover. On your doorstep is an array of birdlife and other wildlife observable up close from an elevated position from within the woods. Walking enthusiasts are spoilt for choice with paths including The Wye Valley Walk, Offa's Dyke Path, and the Black Mountains all nearby and offering a walk through meadows, orchards, uplands and gorges. Those wishing to connect with nature have the River Wye riverbank, a beach for swimming, and a range of canoeing and bushcraft options on-site or very close by.

This wooden-clad lodge is bound to please guests with its cosy underfloor heating for all year round comfort. Take some time to enjoy the tranquil tree-lined horizon with windows perfectly situated for bird watching and spotting foxes and badgers in the woods. A generously sized family shower room with WC is perfect for unwinding after a day exploring this popular area and completes the property.

A large wrap-around veranda accessed from the kitchen is ideal for relaxing among the trees and overlooking the river. From here you can watch the day come alive while sipping your morning coffee. There's an outdoor dining table for you to enjoy a home-cooked meal or evening drinks. Enjoy a BBQ and draw out the warmer evenings in this sociable space. There is no need to sacrifice creature comforts in the woods as there is an adjoining laundry room with washing machine and hanging airer rack. Ample off-road parking surrounds the property.

The BOTHY is a large, open plan, property on the edge of Hay. A 10-15 minute walk to the High Street. Wonderful walks from the door and beautiful surroundings. We had a great welcome from the owners and the property is excellent for families or groups, or cosy enough for two. We will definitely be back.

What an amazing place to stay! 6 adults and a dog easily had enough space. Absolutely fabulous stay. Was like a huge treehouse. Equipment supplied was amazing. Lodge was great. Decking fab and gated for our spaniel. Loved the pop up bbq and bar - so did our grown up kids. I cant rate the Bothy enough - it is so peaceful, calming, cosy, clean and warm! Our group had a wonderful stay. We walked in to beautiful Hay to mooch around the shops, which is 5/10 minutes walk, but we could honestly have sat in the Bothy all weekend! Its hard to leave! It was our second stay - and we will be back!
