Set within the heart of a traditional village, this spacious single-storey annexe is just perfect for explorers whatever the time of year, offering access into the Forest for both walking and cycling.

The peaceful village of Coalway is a perfect base for exploring the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. You are well-served by foot with a village store and local pub within walking distance. For walkers and cyclists, you can access a network of Forest tracks for walking, mountain biking and cycling from the village, along with a flat walk into the pretty market town of Coleford where you will find a selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. For a little more adventure, you can enjoy rock climbing, caving and canoeing at Symonds Yat, Go Ape at Mallards Pike, and the downhill mountain biking tracks at Sallow Vallet. Other attractions include Clearwell Caves, Hopewell Colliery, Puzzlewood, and Perrygrove Railway. The annexe, formally a village shop, is set to the side of a traditional cottage.

Step inside to a spacious hall and passageway with a cupboard for coats and boots. From the far end of the passageway, you can access the lounge, a generous room enjoying natural light from the bay windows. Here you can relax after a day exploring, enjoy a movie on the TV, board games or a good book. There is a dining table and chairs that’s perfect for two. The kitchen is situated off the passageway, well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washer/dryer. The bedroom is situated off the passageway, a spacious double enjoying a front aspect. There is also a bathroom with a bath and handheld shower, and a separate WC. Please note that there is a slope within the passageway.

Outside, an established garden, which is accessed via the owner's garden, with a secluded area offers a place to sit and dine or enjoy the afternoon sun. There is off-road parking for one car along with secure bike storage and storage space for canoes.

Well equipped, clean homely accommodation. Very friendly owners. Lovely shared peaceful garden to sit in. Only negative is on fairly busy main road but saying that it was quiet at night. Secure parking. Location being equidistant from Ross and Chepstow is convenient.

This cottage is exceptional in our view. Everything about it is just superb including the friendliness of the owners and its location , would definitely like to stay there again if we go back to the Forest of Dean. Off road parking very secure and safe which is a bonus compared with others we have stayed at, only things worth noting is the over batRead moreh shower , although excellent, the bath may be a bit high for people with mobility issues to get in and out of, the Wi-Fi is weak. Not an issue for us Hide

***** Beautiful holiday accommodation; immaculate and spotless! Lovely owners also. Owners very pleasant & helpful. Good spacious sitting room and bedroom, kitchen quite small which we knew before booking, but fine for 2 people A very good feature was the automatic ceiling lighting that came on at night if you were going to the bathroom etc. Very well decorated.

Spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. Good location for exploring both the Forest and the surrounding area to the east. The local shop is a Co-op and well stocked with basic foods, ie fine for everyday eating but not gourmet. Another reviewer says that the traffic noise was a problem. It wasn't.

Very comfortable cottage with only one minor quibble re bedroom curtains. Everything was provided for our stay and the location was perfect for touring. We were quite content but younger visitors might bemoan the poor mobile signals in the area. We would certainly consider staying again as the hosts were so welcoming.

If cold weather is expected, would recommend taking slippers as tiled floors in kitchen and bathroom are cool. Beautiful garden laid to lawn with spring bulbs. Off street parking.

This was one of the most well equipped cottages we have stayed at. A pub and convenience store about 10 minutes walk and a good stroll into Coleford if you wanted. Friendly and welcoming owners and a very comfortable cottage. Off road parking. A very good base to explore the surrounding area, a perfect getaway.
