A cosy retreat set within the banks of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, perfect for two. Enjoy endless walks from the doorstep and plenty of welcoming country pubs nearby.
Surrounded by beautiful gardens that are rich in wildlife, this charming lodge is one of three properties set opposite the owners' home, and simply perfect for exploring the various trails and footpaths that will guide you onto the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Weary from your adventures, the local pub 0.5 miles away has a fine selection of real ales and hearty meals to save you from cooking. The local area is renowned for being popular amongst foodies, with two Michelin-starred restaurants and celebrated gastropubs within 9 miles. If you time your visit to coincide with the Abergavenny Food Festival in September, you’ll be in for a treat.
Accessed via a gently stepped path from the parking area, the property itself is a cosy retreat that sleeps two guests. The comfortable lounge is bright and spacious with natural light that streams in through the French doors and the room is equipped with a snug sofa and armchair, and a TV/DVD player. There is a spacious kitchen diner where you can enjoy home-cooked meals from the well-equipped kitchen complete with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee maker. The bedroom is spacious with a super-king-size zip-and-link that can be made into twin beds at the time of booking. And, for total relaxation, you can take advantage of the electric sauna. There is a shower room with a shower and a WC off the bedroom. Shared laundry facilities can be found on-site. The friendly owners can also be approached to ask about the best routes for exploring the area.
Outside, you'll find a sunny terrace with seating, alongside 3.5 acres of attractive gardens and a small area of woodland, home to a few curious pheasants that wander throughout the area. There are goats and pigs in the surrounding fields too. If you want to explore the local area, there is a path to Sugar Loaf Mountain right from the sun terrace.
