Set on the northern coast of the River Dyfi, the picturesque harbour resort of Aberdyfi (also known as Aberdovey) has miles of sandy beaches and a championship golf course, and is a great spot for a range of water sports including sailboarding, rowing, canoeing, and sailing. The village hosts yachting regattas in the summer and is popular with surfers and anglers. Aberdyfi has a choice of independent shops, pubs and restaurants serving local seafood, and makes a great base for keen walkers and climbers exploring the southern reaches of the Snowdonia National Park. The cottage lies in the Penhelig area, ideally situated close to a popular village pub, with the Old Roman Road and a Cambrian Coast railway halt nearby.
Stepping into this bright and inviting holiday home, the ground floor features a spacious and welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With beautiful slate flooring, TV, DVD, plenty of seating and a coal-effect gas fire, the cosy lounge is an ideal space for everyone to unwind in at the end of a wonderful day. The dining area is just by the French doors, and the kitchen has a wide range of useful equipment including a dishwasher, fridge with small ice compartment, electric oven with gas hob, microwave and a washing machine. Heading up to the first floor, there’s a pretty south-facing twin bedroom with views out to sea. The tumble dryer and ironing board can be found in the landing cupboard. Steep-angled cottage-style stairs without handrails lead up to the second floor. Here you will find a fresh and relaxing double bedroom with fabulous sea views from the porthole-style window. This floor also features a stylish bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC.
From the lounge, a sunny front terrace features garden furniture and makes a lovely spot for al fresco dining. External steps lead up to a decked area with built-in bench seating and stunning views over the estuary and out across Cardigan Bay. A free car pass is provided for the local pay and display car parks – one is just 150 metres from the cottage, and the other is by the beach in the centre of the village.
