Property code: 88271

Enjoying an elevated location with breathtaking views across the Severn Estuary, this cosy retreat with a private hot tub is the perfect base for couples wanting a break in the countryside.

The cottage is nestled on the edge of peaceful woodland, perfect for picnics and woodland walks and is located on the same site as Horseshoe View Cottage No 2 and the River View Hideaway annexe.  The Forest of Dean boasts several nature reserves, one of which is on the doorstep, where wild boar, sheep, deer, and Highland cattle are just some of the wildlife to be seen. Visit in April and experience the carpet of wild bluebells that stretch across the forest for miles. It’s a haven for cyclists as well as walkers who are attracted to the well-established cycling routes and footpaths. The Sculpture Trail is a particular favourite, highlighting the talents of many local artists and sculptors working in wood, stone, clay and metal. And to finish, you can enjoy coffee and cake at Beechenhurst.

This is one of a pair of cottages that have been finished to a high standard. A few steps lead to the raised terrace area and the entrance to the single-storey accommodation which features a spacious bedroom, lounge with dining area, kitchen and shower room. Rustle up meals in the stylish kitchen, which is fully equipped with a ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. Admire the panoramic view whilst enjoying breakfast – if you’re up early enough you might even catch the sun rising over the river. Alternatively, a late supper or a glass of wine on a summer’s evening sitting on the terrace is great to unwind. The lounge area offers comfortable seating and a TV, and the double bedroom affords stunning views across the countryside.

Outside, the raised terrace area provides a stunning al fresco dining area, and sun loungers allow a spot of sunbathing in the warmer months. The generous six-person hot tub is for the exclusive use of two adult guests and includes loungers as well as seats. A screen is positioned for privacy – it offers the perfect way to unwind after a busy day exploring the delights of the Forest of Dean. There is secure storage for bikes and off-road parking for two cars.

The cottage was lovely, in a fantastic location and the view was stunning. The owner came to introduce himself and to check everything was ok for us, showed us how to use the hot tub and even came to say goodbye before we left. Plenty to see and do within a short distance and some great places to eat.

What a wonderful find. Perfect location, lovely accommodation and the hot tub with the fantastic view was incredible (spent every evening in it). We really didn't want to go home. The bed was incredibly comfortable, best 4 nights sleep we've both had for ages. A great place to explore all that The Forest of Dean has to offer, with walks from the coRead morettage. The owners were really helpful in recommending places to eat. Would highly recommend a stay, we were so relaxed staying here. Hide
