The River Wye is just 2 miles away, where you can hire a canoe on one of the quietest parts of the river, or join the Wye Valley Walk, a trail that crisscrosses the border of England and Wales. A trip to one of the many market towns is a must where you can pick up local produce from a farmers’ market or browse the independent shops. Hay-on-Wye (25 miles) is famed for books and the annual international literary festival, and the market towns of Ross-on-Wye (7.5 miles), Monmouth (15 miles) and Leominster (20 miles) all welcome you with an eclectic range of independent shops.
