Enjoying a rural location on the southeastern edge of the national park, this charming Welsh cottage is surrounded by Monmouthshire countryside and the Black Mountains. Offering comfortable and dog-friendly interiors, and plenty of space for up to six guests to unwind, this is the perfect countryside base for families or groups of friends. With many local hillsides to climb, including Skirrid, Sugar Loaf, and Blorenge (all within 10 miles) the area is perfect for lovers of the outdoors thanks to the summits’ panoramic views. Walkers can also join the Offa's Dyke footpath at Pandy (10 miles), where you can climb the Cat’s Back, a wonderful ridge on Black Hill. The national park offers plenty to see and do with attractions that include The Big Pit at Blaenavon (6 miles), Brecon Mountain Railway (22 miles) and Zip World Tower (30 miles). Abergavenny is just 3 miles away, and further west lies the quaint market town of Crickhowell (8 miles).

Surrounded by gardens, this traditional Welsh cottage offers a warm welcome. Guests are encouraged to use the rear door which offers access into a useful utility space, offering the perfect place for muddy boots after a busy day in the countryside. From here, you will enter the kitchen, charming and well-equipped, offering everything you may need for preparing meals during your stay. A doorway opens into a generously sized dining room, finished with a large table and chairs that are perfect for getting together over a hearty meal, while in the summertime you can open the original front door to enjoy the gardens. For relaxing, a spacious lounge awaits with peaceful garden views, comfortable seating, and a large TV with FreeSat. Upstairs, guests have the choice of three bedrooms, a master double bedroom with dressing room and ensuite bathroom with a large shower, a very spacious triple with a super-king-size bed and an additional single bed for children,  and a cosy single room with 3ft x 5ft 6" bed. Serving the bedrooms, find a well-appointed family bathroom with a large, free-standing bath, separate shower and WC.

Outside, the cottage is surrounded by gardens and views across the countryside. There is a seating area with table and chairs for al fresco dining, along with a storage area for bikes. Peaceful, scenic, and expansive, this is the perfect space to unwind and take in your delightful surroundings.

We loved our stay at this cottage. We were four adults and an 8 year old. It is very spacious with two large reception rooms, the garden is beautiful. It has wonderful views and is so peaceful. A perfect hideaway with masses of space, a totally enclosed garden, fantastic welcome pack and all the mod cons. Huge bedrooms and lovely kitchen with birds outside the window and two massive lounges / dining rooms. Location is ideal with good towns and shops and pubs a very short drive away. Lovely roomy cottage with spacious garden - 2 adults and 3 small children and it didn't feel cramped at all. Views were beautiful, hosts were very welcoming and left the best "welcome pack" I've seen (they also arranged to pop in after we arrived to make sure we could work everything). We have just returned home after a truly wonderful holiday. From arrival to departure we loved every single moment. The large cottage was so lovely and tastefully presented, providing exceptional comfort. Andrew and Susie our hosts are the nicest couple you could wish to meet and made sure that all was well without being intrusive in any way.
