The cottage is perfect for honeymoons as well as just spoiling yourself for the weekend, with extra touches such as dressing gowns and slippers provided. A short walk to the local village pub and some of the best walking in the Brecon Beacons is available from the doorstep.

Miles of gentle strolls and cycle rides along the Brecon & Monmouth Canal, or for more of a challenge try the Brecon Beacon mountain range. The Rivers Usk & Wye are both nearby for fishing, day permits for the Usk available in Crickhowell and canoes for the River Wye can be rented in Glasbury. Well located between our favourite four Welsh towns of Hay-on-Wye, Brecon, Crickhowell and Abergavenny. After a days walking or shopping, there is a local spa a few short miles away, with treatment rooms, as well as a swimming pool.

Entering into a hallway perfect for storing muddy wellies and coats, the lounge / kitchen / dining lies just beyond. The lounge has a wood burner (first basket of logs included), Smart TV, Blu-ray and door leading to the terrace and garden outside. The extremely well equipped kitchen has electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer and coffee machine. There's a downstairs cloakroom with WC.

Upstairs is a beautifully furbished bedroom, with super-king-size bed, iPod dock and exposed beams. There is an exquisite dressing room and en-suite bathroom fully tiled with full size bath, shower and WC. Luxurious robes, slippers and towels are all provided for your use as are the Noble Isle toiletries. 

Outside is a large enclosed garden, with outdoor furniture and BBQ. You have a private terrace, table and chairs and the garden is shared with another cottage. Beyond the estate you have access to acres of private woodland and parkland, and bike storage. Electric vehicle charging now available on site at an extra charge.

Two well behaved  dogs are welcome.

There are 4 other cottages available on this site sleeping 2-4 guests which are perfect for when travelling with friends and family.

PLEASE NOTE -  all arrivals must be either a Monday for 4 nights, or a Friday for 3 nights, or 7 night durations starting on Monday or Friday.

Fantastic location and the cottage was perfect. Extremely well appointed, charming, comfortable and cosy. The gardens and grounds were well cared for and we shall return!!

Comfortable, thoughtful additions and spacious. From a well equipped kitchen to bath robes there were plenty of little touches that help the holiday. The location was peaceful with plenty of parkland for our dogs to run.

We just loved the cottage. The location was perfect with a field just behind for the dog to play. Absolutely love that. Lost of walks in the surrounding area.

Probably one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in. Comfortable and with the field and garden a dream location for our Labrador. The owners are very pleasant and helpful so all in all an highly enjoyable break in a quiet location.

The cottage is beautiful, so well equipped, spacious and comfortable. There are so many thoughtful touches and you can tell how much effort has gone into making this a home away from home (if only our home was this lovely!). The location is excellent, with the central Brecon Beacons accessible on foot from the cottage, as well as the Monmouthshire Read moreand Brecon canal. Many other fantastic walks easily accessible within an hours drive including the Four Falls trail and Skirrid Fawr. Hide

Our stay at the The (Chestnut) Cottage was fantastic. We could not have asked for a better experience, so perfect for us and our springer spaniel. Having the courtyard as a back garden, and then what we called the 'parkland' alongside to allow her to safely run around was simply perfect. We felt like we had stayed in the grounds of a small french cRead morehateau. Everything you could possibly want and more was provided, well laid out and immaculately presented. We had a wonderful break at this cottage. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Very beautiful surroundings and friendly owners. Location is great for getting out and about. We really enjoyed it.

So comfortable and well equipped. I enjoyed the fact I could cook and enjoy a meal outside in the lovely courtyard. The cottage is close to lovely walks along the canal and small towns for some souvenir shopping

Beautiful location, quiet, friendly. Very nice, cosy cottage with lovely grounds. Everything was very well organised. Great for walking, visiting Brecon, Abergavenny. Crickhowell.

Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean cottage. A real bonus there were no signs of smoking around. We are very anti smoking and this was a really big bonus. Plenty of space for the dogs to run and play. A stones throw from Brecon town centre, Crickhowell and a short distance to Abergavenny. Lovely pub a short drive from the cottage called the Read more3 horseshoes highly reccomend for Sunday lunch but the parking is a nightmare so just be aware when you book. We're returning for Xmas, can't wait! Hide
